20th Anniversary
Many thanks to Paula on all her ahrd work in organising the 20th Anniversary Reunion Party. I know everyone that went had a great time meeting, chatting and dancing with old frends. Hope to see some at the Chrismas Party!!

Bedford Triathlon

Ironman UK
Well done to Kevin and Steve on their finishes at IMUK. John through in the towel after his third puncture when he'd run out of tubes and the tyre split - well done John for getting out there for a second time this year.

Kingswood Mountain Bike Duathlon
Ashford Tri Club are holding their third Kings Wood Mountain Bike Duathlon in Kings Wood, Challock, Nr Ashford, Kent on 23rd November. It promises to be bigger and better than previous races.  The course is slightly longer and they have included an extra tricky section in the bike lap to spice things up!  There will be more prizes, goody bags, race t-shirts, refreshments on site and lots more. Thames Turbo Triathlon
Well done to James Drain who took part in the Thames Turbo Triathlon on Monday. He finished 5th in his category and 25th out of 376 athletes.

2008 Children's Triathlon
After discussions with Dartford College this morning it has become clear that the pool is not going to be open by the weekend and so the discision has been taken to cancel this year's Children's Triathlon. Those entrants that have had their cheques cashed will receive a refund in the week or so. We propose to distroy those cheques received recently that have not been presented to our bank. If anyone has concerns please ring Paul on 01322 403488 between 18:00 and 21:00.
National Relays
Congratulations to our team that competed in the National Relays in Nottingham at the weekend.

They acheived 37th overall in a time of 3:21:48.


Ride 4 Joe and the Myelin Project UK
Congratulations to all those that rode the charity training ride to raise money for the Myelin Project UK for Joseph Swift. Over £350 was raised from donations made at the start. Thankyou. Matt and Colette Swift were both members of White Oak Tri Squad and are both top class cyclists. Joseph was born on 5th October 2006 and has recently been diagnosed with an incurable degenerative disease called Aicardi Goutieres Syndrome.This rare form of Leukodystrophy leaves Joseph with very little control of any muscle in his body. Please take time to visit the website and read all about this brave young boy and his parents Matt and Colette.

Fast and the Furious Duathlon - 5k Run / 22k Bike / 5k Run

Congratulations to all those that turned up for the Duathlon on Sunday. It was a great disappointment to all the competitors and the organisers that it had to be cancelled due to bad weather and dangerous conditions.


Hell of Ashdown

Four members to race in the World's in Vancouver
Four members from the White Oak Triathlon club will represent England at the world triathlon championships in Vancouver in June. Andrew Walpole and James Drain are taking part in the Olympic distance event, 1500m swim, 40km cycle and 10km run, in the 25 to 29 and 20 to 24 age groups, respectively.

John Setford, attending his 14th championships, will be joined in the 55-59 age group of the Sprint event by Roy Knight, who is making his championship debut.

The World Triathlon Championships take place on the 6th and 7th June.

Club Races
The Club championship races for 2008 will be East Grinstead Triathlon and Milton Keynes(July). The handicap race still has to decided; please feel free to make suggestions. £10.00 refunds will be given to finishers of both the Club championship races. Please, let me know your race plans so I can keep the Races To Do page up to date.
AGM
This years AGM was held on Wednesday 28th November. Details to be published when available.

BTA Membership
BTA Membership runs from 1st April 2007 to 1st April 2008 so now is the time to think about joining or renewing. Forms are now available to download (requires Adobe Reader) or you can join on-line on the BTA website.
