Xtreme Terrain Triathlon
Congratulations to Gary Bryant, Alex Tyrrell and Paul Munday who won first team prize by over 30 minutes at in the First XTT triathlon. This was a 1500m swim, 26k MTB and 13k run event. Click here to see the results. Gary wrote:- Great performance from Paul who somehow managed to get across the finish line before me despite a nasty fall early on the bike leg. how he got past me without me seeing, i'll never know? Even more remarkable was Alex's perfomance... a disapointing swim, but an amazing recovery on the bike to record the 2nd fastest bike split of the day covering half the course with a punctured rear! (didn't see him come past me either?) however his efforts on the bike obviously took its toll as he was seen grovelling around the 13k run in a disapoining 54 minutes dropping him back from 2nd to 14th overall. Grand Prix Winner

Ironman UK - Sherborne Congratulations to all those that competed at Sherborne. What a gruelling race! Firstly there was mist on the lake and after all the athletes had risen from their beds at 3:30am to breakfast and prepare for the 6:00 am start the Start was put back a quarter of an hour then another half and another and eventually to 8:00. Then there was a false start and the first group of around twenty swimmers were stopped about 100m up the course and had to swim back. The race actually got underway at 8:10am. The fist swimmer emerged from the lake after just 45mins, which needless to say was a little way in front of our fastest man Marcus Smith who managed an excellent 63 mins. Steve Fish then suffered a catastrophe; his transition bag had been taken from his peg and could not be found anywhere. After much searching the marshals gave up and the guys at TriUK kitted him out in new gear and even set up his shoes for him. A great effort which saw Steve leave with a transition time of just 20 mins – Many thanks to TriUK. See below for our boy's times.
