This Sunday (7th) there will be a 53 mile ride starting from Princes Park at 9:30. There will be a short option of 28 miles for anyone that doesn't fancy the 53.
If anyone wants company on a ride this weekend just put out an email on the e-group.

Dates for your diary
A twelve week course of turbo sessions will be run by Graham Hiscock on Thursday evenings, 19:30 till 20:30 from 7th January through to 25th March at White Oak Liesure Centre.
The 2010 cycle tour will be on the weekend of 15th May and will be returning to Dieppe.
The Dartford Bridge Olympic Triathlon will be on the 27th June.
The 21st White Oak Triathlon will be held on the 11th July.

Christmas Dinner and Presentation
This year's Christmas Dinner and Presentation will be held on Saturday 19th December at The Olympic, Beechenlea Lane, Swanley. The price (subsidised by the club) is £15.00 per head for club members and a partner. Please let Jane or Paula have full payment as soon as possible and by Wednesday 7th October 2009 at the latest to secure a place. Eireman
Congratulations to Mick Andrews on his finish at Eireman, the Ironman distance race held in Co. Wexford, Ireland on 23rd August. The weather was so bad that the sea swim was cancelled and 40 mph gusts of wind were reported. Splits to follow.

Lake swimming
Finally the lake at Dartford is ready for us to use. Lake swimming will commence on Monday 24th August and continue on Monday evenings until the light becomes a problem. The lake will be available between 18:00 an 20:00 initially. Click here for a map showing the lake. For Bank holiday Monday 31st the lake will be available from 17:00.

Sunday swim sessions
Sunday swim sessions will be changed to 20:00 until 21:00 for the month of August only. Hopefully this will attract a few more swimmers.

Dextro Energy Triathlon
It was a great weekend for triathlon in Hyde Park. The weather was good and the world's best athletes raced on Saturday covered live on BBC1. The cameras had, however, all gone when the age groupers raced on Sunday. Congratulations to those that took part. Special mentions must go to Ross Fisher on his 10th fastest swim time on the day (with no wetsuit on) and Roy Knight on his 3rd in his age group. Click here to view all the results. Marshman Triathlon
Congratulations to all those that competed at the inorgrial Marshman Middle Distance Triathlon. The weather was terrible with high winds and driving rain. Click here to view the results. Skiing
By way of a change why not come skiing with the WOT group. The current venue favourite is Europe in February or early March. At present approx 7 people have expressed a definite interest. If you wish to add your name to the list please give Kevin Perkins a ring or drop him a mail by 9th January.

BTA Membership runs from 1st April 2008 to 1st April 2009 so now is the time to think about joining or renewing. Forms are now available to download (requires Adobe Reader) or you can join on-line on the BTA website.
